Laundry Organises 6-Hour Music Marathon Showcasing Local Music Talents
On 31 May, Laundry Bar at The Curve will be collaborating with popular local indie-band An Honest Mistake to organise a 6-hour music marathon which will gather 15 up and coming local musical groups to showcase their talents during the music event.
Co-organising the event will be a band An Honest Mistake, a band who themselves made their name by playing at entertainment spots and clubs such as the Laundry Bar, The Library and Urbanattic when they first started out in 2008. Today, the band is one of the most recognizable names in the local indie music as well as attracting a string of following in neighbouring countries – Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines.
Among the bands list of accolades include winning the VIMA 2010’s Best College Act Award – the most prestigious independent music award in South East Asia, and opening for international bands such as Boys Like Girls and Motion City Soundtrack.
Having cut their teeth playing at spots such as Laundry, the band is now collaborating with Laundry to organise this music marathon to provide the same opportunity and platform for other up-and-coming local talents ranging from experimental, pop rock, hip hop, RnB, and many more to showcase their musical abilities, build their fan base and perhaps get discovered.
The event will be opened to the public (no cover charge) from 4pm onwards on May 31st at Laundry, The Curve.
