Fassine Premiere New Video For First Single
“An industrial track marrying hints of Trent Reznor’s influence with a more cinematic tint” – The 405
Dark Industrial Electronic Trio Fassine have premiered the new video for their first single, “Sunshine”, with the 405. You can read the piece and see the video below.
Sarah Palmer (Fassine Vocalist) explained the clip a bit more in-depth, saying:
“The Sunshine visuals represent isolation, not only as a beautiful thing but also a dangerous one. The video shows the physical and psychological prison that loneliness can hold you in, as well as a euphoric freedom”.
‘Sunshine’, the first single to be taken from Fassine’s debut album ‘Dialectik’ (due 2016) is an electronic hymn of Industrial scale. It terrifies, yet elates in an anthemic way, painting an image of dystopia for the listener. Fassine’s sound is one of striking imagery that dares the listener to enter the group’s own stark world.
Lyrically dark and musically complex, the group has a hint of Trent Reznor’s influence, alongside the cinematic qualities of UNKLE, and the ambiguous, minimalist bent of Berlin-era Bowie.
‘Sunshine’ sets the tone perfectly ahead of the debut album, which was inspired by 1970’s and 80s TV dramas, with their typical British cold, austere, oppression; shows like Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy and Edge of Darkness, which were built in these vast settings with great distance, have formed an overall attitude for the forbidding and mysterious sound that is Fassine.
