ZoukOut 2014: First Light Draws Largest Turnout For Its 14th Edition
Last weekend, ZoukOut 2014 [Dec 12 & 13] drew 50,000 revellers to Siloso Beach, Sentosa, making the largest turnout in its 14th year history. Of the 50,000, the two-day festival that featured some of the biggest global acts alongside Singapore talent, saw 40% tourists from around the world, including visitors from neighbouring countries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.
No expense was sparred to deliver a world-class festival that delivered top-notch production of sound and visuals, and pyrotechnics, plus fringe activities along the sandy beach.
More than 25 artists performed at the two-day festival. Apart from its international line-up, ZoukOut also gave bigger play to local and regional talent.
Festival-goers participated actively on social media for two days. ZoukOut on Facebook saw more than 10,000 hashtag posts for #Zoukoutsg, while there are more than 19,000 posts featuring ZoukOut on Instagram and still counting.

This year’s ZoukOut was by far the biggest festival organised by Zouk club. This year’s festival is in the partnership with Ibiza’s prestigious International Music Summit [IMS], which took place a day before on Dec 11. It saw Zouk’s founder Lincoln Cheng, Zouk resident DJ Jeremy Boon, Zouk’s Head of Entertainment Wayne Lee, and ZoukOut DJs Steve Angello, Damian Lazarus and Richie Hawtin on IMS’ 35-speaker panel. The partnership between IMS and ZoukOut amplified the superclub’s commitment in promoting and raising awareness of the electronic dance music genre.
Mr Cheng was also honoured for his work and contributions for Zouk and ZoukOut, with the IMS Pioneer Award for Asia-Pacific at IMS AP 2014.
