The well-manicured greenery in the foreground that once set the backdrop for the barren 7-acre estate three years ago has today blossomed into a modern, bustling lifestyle estate that is TREC KL – a nation’s pride that’s depicts an international standard in the leisure and tourism sector on par with cities such as Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
And, TREC – Malaysia and KL’s largest entertainment and F&B hangout – sitting along Jalan Tun Razak looks keenly towards its next phase with its already stunning development across five blocks housing some 50 F&B brands from Malaysian and in the region.
WHAT’S NEW
From July, TREC will welcome more key brands, increasing its populace of regional brands in its current portfolio in a bid to draw more visitors, including tourists. Hot on the heels of the recent opening of Hong Kong’s DROP and Singapore’s Shiraz Dining & Bar comes Singapore’s highly successful Latin venue, Cuba Libre; Bangkok headquartered franchise brand The Iron Fairies; Koreana, a Korean-themed karaoke will be located above YG Republique, which will create two adjoining duplexes of fun for K-pop fans at Hive block; and a slew of indie venues at the soon-to-be-transformed Alley block.

• Zouk [SG]
• DROP [HGK]

One of the key highlights at TREC is the transformation of Alley block, with works undergoing now. Esther Soh, TREC’s Group General Manager, says: “The fruition of Alley aims to create new experiences for visitors. It will also give TREC the edge of an alternate offering from the current ‘mainstream’ choices, drawing not just more interest but a wider clientele to TREC, with
Alley’s indie spirit, visual aesthetics on the street and F&B options by emerging entrepreneurs and brands.”
Alley will see up to seven new F&B venues along the street, joining current casual hangouts The Mojito Man speakeasy and Retro Tapas Bar & Cafe.
