This is a 5 minutes tutorial of how to create dreamy effect with Adobe Photoshop. Very simple and easy Photoshop technique I have been using for years to add this dreamy effect to wedding pictures, photos, websites etc.
First, you need to use a picture that you want. Example like the picture above.
Step 1
Duplicate the image and name the layer to any name you like. So now you have 2 layers of the image. One for the dreamy effect and another is the original image.
Step 2
Now you need to blur the duplicated layer. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Set the blur radius to 2 pixels or any number you like. Then click OK.
Step 3
Now you have to Add Vector Mask to the duplicated blur image. Select the Vector Mask layer. Use the Brush tool, select at least 150px and brush it on the blur layer. Use the brush on the focus point of the picture. Without opacity, the effect won’t work. So you have to adjust the opacity to 60% or any % depends on how to blur the image is. Touch up the image with your brush again to finish
Step 4
Wow! It’s done now! I guess it doesn’t take a long time to get this dreamy effect. Right? Let’s see the difference between the original and the dreamy effect image.
