Finally there are way to unleashed the sleeping monster and get the tamed Ford Fiesta MK7 awaken with its ECU remapped thanks to GTA Technik from Germany, Red Transmission Taiwan and Bug Auto. Guess I have the first ever Ford Fiesta 1.6 Ti-VCT 6-speed Powershift in Malaysia with ECU flashed without any error code and proven working on a Ford Fiesta 2011! I’m not sure if there are any Fiesta model 2011 in Malaysia out there have done this before but it’s great to experience it first hand from Bug Auto.
I’ve been looking for years for ECU remap for this 2011 Fiesta MK7, although it’s an old model, but no luck because those remap out there like RaceChip, Superchip or Bluefin is either not supported with the car model here or for turbocharged only. I was ‘locked’ for 3 years and now finally found the solution to get the car computer hacked.
Back to the Fiesta MK7 ECU remap topic, it took about 3 hours for the procedure to complete. First the tuner from Red Transmission Taiwan took out the car ECU, backup my original ECU files and flash the custom map on it without using OBD2 port. They put it back to the car, and did the test run.
I went for dyno run at DTuning (quite well known car modification workshop located in Bandar Sri Damansara). The dyno result came out with increased horsepower and great torque for Ford Fiesta MK7 after ECU remap. I have the standard Fiesta performance modifications such as J1 cold air intake, full custom exhaust, sport cat, FSWerks spark cable and Brisk Spark Energizer.
I have my Fiesta MK7 ECU flashed and done the DCT tuning at Bug Auto. The DCT tuning made the gear shifting a lot faster and more responsively. The boss from DTuning seems quite impressed with the gear shift though. Although the result is good, but according to the him, he mentioned that about the ignition timing can be improved and fuel are too rich at end (end means at higher rpm?) and it is a ‘safe zone’ type (Stage 1 remap i guess), means not fully unleashed. So he would recommend using Unichip to fine tune the current Fiesta performance if i’m are not planning to get the ECU remap again and able squeeze even more horsepower and juices out of it with a Unichip! The boss tuner also suggest to get the camshaft bore for extra torque. And he mentioned the fastest Fiesta of all (…in Malaysia?). I was like… WOW, really? The DTuning boss said so, so i just trust him with a smile on the face LOL. He can ‘squeeze’ 100bhp for my Kelisa 1.0 Bot, so i’ll trust him again this time.
Here are the things I noticed on the car after ECU remapped and DCT tuned.
– Fuel Saving
– Torque increased
– Exhaust note changed (deeper, bassy and agressive sound)
– Faster gear shift
– Car jerking lessen
– Loud popping and bangs from exhaust on every gear shift, this is freaking cool!
And i have been enjoying my ride even more ever since the remap.
So do you think it’s waste of money to get fine-tune with the Unichip after ECU remapped? But of course can squeeze even more juice out of it. Sounds poisoning. Now, I’m waiting for the next stage mod and will update for Stage 2 Fiesta MK7 mods. Out.
